CROSSRIP [TREK BICYCLES] 2017:  The 2017 CrossRip Project was a design study in market position and strengthening that position.  As CrossRip was considered a 'do-it-all' road bike, it made the most sense to further define it a long distance commuter bike for the week, and versatile sport bike on the weekend. Hence out problem statement drove us to design the best workday commute / weekend rip bike on the market.
We did a three day deep dive to define the CrossRip experience where we discovered how the rider needed to be able to set up their bike for the weekend or work day scenarios.  We came up with a concept for hard packs, which Erik Eagleman jumped at prototyping and testing.
